Introduction to Eclipse Platform

Eclipse RCP is an rich client platform for developing general-purpose applications (such as “Eclipse IDE for Java Developers” or “Eclipse IDE for PHP Developers”).

Oomph is a project providing tooling to make the installation and configuration of Eclipse RCP instances easier (also called Eclipse installer).

Console Oomph Installer is a Oomph version implements a headless installation mode of Eclipse RCP from command line.

  • Installation Eclipse with an exact set of features/plugins and with certain preferences.
  • Automation the process of installing and updating Eclipse (using CI\CD).
